We aren't your average dance studio - we offer a unique variety of classes and services! We truly have something for everyone. Not finding a class or service that you're looking for? Please don't hesitate to reach out - we're here to help!
Whether you're looking to learn some new moves or get a fun workout in, we truly have something for everyone! DANCESCAPE offers two types of classes, Choreography-Based and Fitness-Based, designed for ages 18+ (however ages 16-17 can take class with parental consent). Keep scrolling to see further descriptions and video examples of the dance styles you can learn with DANCESCAPE!
CHOREOGRAPHY-BASED
Classes will begin with a short warm up, followed by instruction of a 30 to 60 second-long dance routine. We will end each class with the opportunity to split into smaller groups to dance more full-out and work on small improvements with each run, while also performing the routine and cheering each other on.
Recommended skill level: Beginner to Intermediate.
FITNESS-BASED
These classes are designed to be a follow-along style of instruction with more focus on
cardio/HIIT movement, combined with dance moves for a more fitness centered workout. The goal is to increase your heart rate in a fun atmosphere, while also familiarizing yourself with a few moves in the specific style. Recommended skill level: No experience to Intermediate.

All of our adult classes are drop-in based, meaning there's no long-term commitment.

KIDS Classes
DANCESCAPE is a brand new dance studio with big plans to build a positive, nurturing, successful kids program; dance education is extremely important to us and we want to be your dancer's safe space to express themselves and help them succeed in their dance journey. At DANCESCAPE, your dancer will always be learning from educated and experienced dance professionals.
During our first year of business we are offering a Fall, Winter, and Spring Session with split style classes for kids ages 4-10; we do plan on offering a variety of Summer camps and intensives as well. We hope to offer even more options in our second season - stay tuned!
Registration for our Spring Session 2025 is OPEN! DANCESCAPE is now offering three kids classes beginning the week of April 14th, 2025 - sign up for the full 9-week session for only $75.00 or drop-ins for $10.00 per class - please contact with any questions!
Petite Ballet/Jazz (Ages 4-6)
Mondays - 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Mini Ballet/Jazz (Ages 6-8)
Tuesdays - 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Junior Ballet/Jazz (Ages 8-10)
Wednesdays - 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Recommended Attire
Clothing: Athletic-wear (leotards, leggings, tank tops, etc.)
Shoes: Ballet shoes for Ballet / Jazz shoes for Jazz
(Please no outdoor shoes in the studio, keep jewelry to a minimum, and style hair so it is out of your dancer's face (all for safety reasons).
EVENTS
DANCESCAPE loves connecting with the community! We host monthly adult and kids dance-based events, often with other Battle Creek/Marshall/Kalamazoo businesses. You don't even have to be a DANCESCAPE student (or even a dancer in general) to attend our events - everyone is invited to try something new, meet some friends, and see firsthand how dance can create community!

about the owner
Martina Reed discovered her love for dance in her hometown of Battle Creek, Michigan. After transferring from Oakland University, she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Western Michigan University in May of 2021. During this time, she performed in works by choreographers Mike Esperanza, Monique Haley, Jeremy Blair, Stephanie Pizzo, Liz Riga, Molly McMullen, Claire Little, Kaitlyn Pollock, and more. She also performed with dance companies Oakland Dance Theatre, Orchesis Dance Society, and Hip Hop ConnXion Michigan. While attending school and after graduating, Martina was a lead instructor at Center Stage Dance Studio, coached the Harper Creek High School Pom Team, and choreographed/taught for multiple studios around southwest Michigan. Martina relocated to Chicago, Illinois in 2022 to further her professional career. She danced professionally with Movementum Dance Project from 2022-2024. She was a lead instructor for the youth and adult programs at Dance On Broadway, and worked as their studio administrator for their 2023-2024 season. Martina is currently an emcee for CRU Dance Competition, is co-coaching the Harper Creek Pom Team again, and is loving running her own business, DANCESCAPE. She is so excited for the next chapter of her dance journey!
